Cigarette manufacturers use gas chromatography methods to determine the content of tar, carbon monoxide and nicotine in their products. Therefore, the test samples are loaded into a special device that simulates a cigarette puff. A filter is placed in the cigarette smoke trap. After the process of "smoking", the cigarette filter is placed in a special solution, which is then analyzed. The obtained results (nicotine, resin content) are indicated on each cigarettes pack.
