First Russian totally automated gas chromatograph “Crystall-2000” had been developing since 1986, and in 1988 it successfully passed government-funded tests and was serially produced from 1989 till 1998. Total amount of produced units is about 3000.
This unit was serially produced and popular on the market for 9 years despite scientific and technical progress. It was popular not only in Yoshkar-Ola, but also in Izhevsk city. Many technical ideas invented during creation of this unit are still used. Working team of developers was awarded with VDNH golden and silver medals in 1988 for creation of this chromatographical unit, they were also awarded with diplomas and prizes and to top it all they were given a vehicle, which was almost impossible to get as an award at a time.
